Donuts in snow question
so it is snowing in NJ now so I thought i would have some fun doing donuts in my LS. I took off ASF and Traction control and did some donuts but something still prevents you from turning off all electronic traction/stability etc. WTF????? When i turn off traction control in my corvette you have complete control of the car to do what you please. Is there a way to completely turn off traction/stability control??? I could not do donuts that well bc it kept trying to slow down the car, stabalize it etc.......so is there NO WAY to turn everything off????

Well I can get my 2000 LS doing donuts on a rubbered up skid pad, so surely it shouldn't be difficult to do them in the snow and ice. Give it moar gas! Turn Snow Mode off as well

stop messing around on the Parkway like that, some of us end up late for work as a result!
p.s. it simply amazes me to see cars off the road with a snowfall of 1-2", unlike our brethren to the north (I arrived last month in Montréal in a 10" snowstorm and saw not one accident, major operation removing snow)

Do you have an 04-06? I don't think you can fully defeat the stability control system but someone else will need to confirm.
The 01-03 have a 'VSC' off button right next to the SNOW / POWER button (in front of the shifter) and that button works very well.
It's so fun to do doughnuts parking lots and an aggressive stab from your big toe usually does the trick of getting those rear wheels spinning.

I looked into this some years ago, as it gets snowy enough in Ottawa to have some fun, and if I recall correctly, only 2000-2002 have the VSC OFF button, which disables both VSC and TRAC.
The owner's manuals for 2003 and up show that the button says TRAC OFF. TRAC is just the stability control for forward acceleration, and VSC is always enabled. VSC handles the skidding sideways motion.
I suspect if you look through the car's wiring diagrams, you could wire up a switch to disable VSC on 2003 and up.
