Default Cost front & back brakes rx350

just had front and rear brakes replaced at Lexus of Edison NJ. With coupon $100 discount was charged $961.40 each or $1988.22. In the future I will definitely not go to the dealer. Also an additional, $740 for spark plug replacement as required at 6 years to keep emissions warranty valid. Sum total $2554 at 6=yrs but only 48,000 miles. At 35,000 miles I had engine light come on and Toyota dealer charged me $1200 to replace engine thermostat. At this rate I should have just bought a bmw and traded it in after 3 yr warranty expired.

I’m seriously reconsidering why I should pay a premium for Lexus and absolutely HATE the terrible info system. I envy a co-workers Honda civic with Apple car play.

Mechanic I usually go to is saying it's going to cost me around $950 to do the job. I was thinking it would be more around the $600 range.

not even thinking about going to the dealer because I would think it's even more.

any thoughts anyone? Is $950 reasonable?

Not sure if your ~$2K brake job included rotor replacement. Price seems to be too high. My local Lexus charges brake job for ~$400/axle, of course they also wants another $199 to change the fluid...
