Mine still had the 2001 maps...and I purchased my 02 a few weeks ago lol
I tried the ebay discs. They're as good as OEM. Really, $10 is even maybe asking for too much, considering there are no unique keys, and the maps on the Gen 2/3 pretty much ended with the 2013 version. It's Toyota's way of telling you to man up and buy a new car...but screw that. I'll sooner mount a 2-DIN with beat-sonic's kit than get another one.

I was not going to update it, for the most part it still works fine but, a lot of the map logic is strange (routes it takes, sometimes MUCH LONGER), but, for $9.50 I figured why not. I normally hit the OK button when I start the car because the STUPID safety warning is annoying and now I can drive over a newer bridge with out floating over water...LOL
As other say, it's too outdated.....after being automatically re-routed when there was NO traffic for 6 miles in back roads only to find out later that the highway was shutdown because of a major accident and I never saw any of it... for that to happen once from a FREE app in a store (WAZE), Navi with out REAL TIME traffic is NOT navigation in my eyes.
And if I was to get a newer LS (460 ?) and pay $30 a month for something a free app can do....I have a hard time with it..

Yea, ebay, grabbed a GEN 4 drive (that was in the trunk) for like $130 (came out of a Toyota, not a lexus), it came with a 13.1 disc. Swapped it on my 2001 LS, and now it uses a GEN 4 disc. And I sold my GEN 3 one for $300...
Upgrade and profit, love it !

But then, that stopped updating in 2015 as well...still prefer a custom 2-din if that's the only other option. At least with it I can connect my phone, ya know?
