My stepson drove it til 160K and sold it to someone who got plenty more good use out of it.
Too funny.. I too had a 2002 Aurora 3.5 that I bought in 2003 and it was in the dealership with a problem almost once a month. Continual transmission problems, instrument display problems, A/C problem, CD player kept failing, and the list went on...

After a year and a half of ownership a girl T-boned me at an intersection and the car was totaled. I was never so glad to be rid of a car, and I had such high hopes for it.

All of them have the LS series V8.

So someone is "wrong" on this. I tend to be on the side that the Big 3 still have major quality problems.

Have you seen the guys website that came up with this ranking system we're discussing? Just sayin', it's not exactly a well funded operation. More like a hobby blog.

So I take it with a grain of salt.

The good news is that Lexus/Toyota come out on top for both, but the other models, the surveys seem to be polar opposites.
I think the article was talking about more about used vehicles/prior models, etc.

The new engines in the Tahoe/Suburban are quite a bit different than the engine in the older silverados and Tahoes. The new LS engine has direct injection, cylinder shutoff, new heads, new cooling system, new exhaust manifolds, variable valve timing.

But you're right, I don't exactly trust GM either.
