Got the name of the driver and the van owner. Of course insurance had lapsed at time of the accident so back to my policy to handle.

So, did you get a new 430 or go with something else? Inquiring minds want to know.

Due to extenuating circumstances, I won't be replacing it anytime soon. The money from the car is earmarked for something else. In the future, I will get another 430 or 460 though.

Geez, just saw this thread and those were some scary photos. Thank goodness you and your family were able to walk away from that. Incredible that there wasn't loss of life or debilitating injuries. The rear is pressed into the backseat! And the nerve of the driver of the van trying to escape without any regard for the passengers in the car they just crushed! And where does the driver really think they're going to go? Sorry that you and your family had to be on the receiving end of that impact, Greg, and am glad the LS did its job well to shield everyone from the impact. I thought auto braking was a little gimmicky but can see now how it won't be so bad to have that as mandatory standard equipment for future cars. The population as a whole seems to be regressing in driver skill and attention. All the best to you and your family, Greg, and hope your insurance takes good care of you.

also factor in diminished resale value when you end up selling it, recoup that from the insurance.

Just came upon this thread. Glad you made it out of that alive. The car, although is a rare breed, your life is more important. I hope you do get into another LS in the future as they are great cars. All owners can vouch for that. Your wheels looked great. I wish you could have gotten it back for parts. Im sure fellow enthusiasts would have supported you with buying parts from you, but I understand the dilemma of parting a car as I have done it before. Again, glad everyone made out ok and not seriously hurt. Wish you the best when picking up your next LS.
