Default 01 seems to have less power than 02 and 06

There are three LS430's in the family, an 06 with 115K miles, an 02 with 115K miles, and an 01 with 85K miles. The 01 doesn't seem as peppy as the other two, any ideas. It has the lowest miles and runs like new but just seems like it doesn't have as much power as the other two, especially when first pressing the gas pedal. The other two kind of jump when the throttle is pressed, the 01 is not as jumpy.

Just throwing some ideas out. Have you looked at doing things like cleaning the MAF and throttle body? What about spark plugs or having the fuel injection cleaned? Are you running Premium fuel in the others vs Regular unleaded in the 01?

IF I had to guess, I'd say it comes down to the 5-speed vs 6-speed transmission. IIRC, the 6 speed also had a different final drive ratio.

You can also see this reflected in road tests...the 04-06 was generally quicker to 60.

I just bought a 2001 with under 60,000 miles and the dealer said there was a power problem, they analyzed and replaced some chip and fixed it.

The 03 and 06 six seem to have the same power even though it is 5 speed vs 6 speed. Maybe it is just me, do not think there is a problem because the car runs excellent.
