what am I looking at? tires are black, but show as white (hot). what color is the car, and are the windows tinted? are the windows super hot? does the car have rain guards? curious minds want to know.

It is a car....j/k. The car is silver, it was sitting in direct sunlight for a few hours at the time of the shot. Surprisingly the body did not show much heat saturation like the tires. Hence why the rubber is showing as a much lighter color. In this mode (WH, White Hot) the hotter the items the brighter white it will be. The windows are tinted, but Infrared cannot see through glass with the UV protection anyway, so the tint doesn't change the way the camera sees the glass. Any other auto window would look the same. However thermal can see through it for temperature change. I do have rain guards and from the photo look about the same temperature relative to the car body.

For $30 one can buy a thermal gun that is quite accurate and gives the temperature wherever you point it. You can instantly get all the temperature spots you would like to see. Gives you a quick evaluation of the cars external and internal temperatures.
