Double DIN / Apple Carplay Install
I just had this ( JVC / KW-M730BT) put in using the Beatsonic harness and Metra dash kit. Still going though the features/settings, but I really like the unit so far.

gstern1994: Where did you purchase all the equipment and did you install it or pay to have a shop do it? Can you share the costs involved as I'm looking for something like this for my 2001 LS430? I have the ML system but the CD changer acts up most of the time and I don't think it's worth replacing it.

It wasn't cheap - the install was done by Best Buy for $165, the Beat Sonic harness was $225 (from CAR ID), and the radio, install kit, and antenna adapters (from Crutchfeild) $460 and change after taxes.

Looks great thanks for sharing the info! What model year is your car?

GROM Android based. Your JVC display looks much cleaner (also some Apple icons). Higher resolution than stock NAV screen. There's a perfect 05 Sports (66) in Bay Area which is a Premium. Perfect for the stereo/display upgrade that you've done. Too bad the asking is 15.5 (!!). Can't see spending that much money to have a better stereo/display upgrade. With the non ML audio, you can also upgrade all the speakers easily (don't have to deal w ML non standard impedance problems).

Your dash does not look at all like my LS430 ! My controls are not across the top, but are up and down the sides of the gps screen. What model LS-430 do you have? Mine is a 2004

That's because the OP's car is a Premium w/o Nav. For your LS with nav, this is the unit you'd need to buy... http://gromaudio.com/store/vline/grom-vl1-lex4.html
not cheap. Has anyone installed this on here? I wonder how it works. I have a UL too, so a few functions are only accessible on the nav screen.
There was some setup awhile back where you could toggle between the interfaces, but cant remember the product.

Check the GROM site. There's a demo video. I think the OP's non Nav install is a lot cleaner.

Yes Grom is Android. I don't know how compatible it is w/ an iPhone. Can I still use Apple's Maps? Who knows. Also GROM uses the stock low resolution NAV screen. Prefer the OP's install but it's not an option on a NAV LS. I've been semi tempted to buy a Premium so I could do something like that JVC. Get a high resolution screen and high end stereo. Redoing the ML audio is difficult and incredibly expensive.
