I paid 10.7k for a 05 custom luxury with 85k miles. You should be easily getting $15k. Just post it everywhere and be patient

in August all our cars will be 1 year older and the prices will drop once again. in this case patience might not be your friend. 04Bob got his with similar miles for $13.9 and had to buy tires and service the timing belt so that cost him more $. unless you are a dealer then you should not be asking full retail for the car. these are nice cars so maybe keep it, you will learn to love it or sell it for a fair price to someone here who will appreciate it like we love our cars. maybe tallcalguy can tell what is involved in buying a car in California. what kind of tax bill will be collected and title fees can add up quick. then there is cost to ship or fly out to pick up and drive back. I would have to take off work for a week to get the car and drive it to Texas. all factors in a fair purchase. just my opinion. like I said before I would be interested at $11,000 but really is not a high priority for me to get a car the same age as the one I have even if it has 100,000 less miles.

CA sales tax on a car from a dealer is automatically 7.5% plus any local fees. Dealer fees can be another 500. It's a good argument for buying cars privately. With the private sale, still have to pay tax at registration but the owner states the price Preference on age/mileage/cost? I bought my 04 w/ 103. Of course, paid too much because CA dealer sale. After the usual repairs (sub, tires, trans D/F, etc), it runs perfectly. Sure a low mileage car would be fun. For reliability, a reasonable mileage (low 100's) well maintained one owner that's driven regularly is still pretty good.

He rarely drove it and was too sick in the last few years to make it outside so it had been garaged ever since. What I would like to know is what is a realistic asking price for a model with such low miles? Are these sedans popular? I KBB and it said it was worth 16k. I thought since it looks and drives like it's new it would be worth more than that but maybe that's just wishful thinking. Any input on this would be very appreciated, thanks in advance

Not sure if you are still looking to sell but here in Northern California you could expect to see a car with your options you have noted around $16-20k dealer or private party. Good luck and sorry to hear about your relative passing.
