Sage help : knock sensor or other, a mouse chewed single red wire
2004 LS After routine oil and filter DIY found under the engine cover a single small gauge red wire chewed through. It clips into a sensor on the top of passenger side bank and looks just like the one on the driver side bank.
Is this a knock sensor ?
Mother mouse made a nest out of the white fiber insulation glued to underside of engine cover. Warm and cozy.
Glad I found no mice family but did have to clean out the little turds and rewire the sensor.
No indication of abnormal operation or function.
TIA

That's the wire for the vvt sensor. It will set a code and illuminate the check engine light. I left mine disconnected accidentally and the light came on within seconds. You will be fine splicing the wire back together.
