Why are 06 models so hard to find ?

@19,500 of the 2006 models sold in the USA compare to over 32,000 of the 2004 and over 26,000 of the 2005

Pole Position
It was the last LS430 year before the LS460 model came out. Expect the same the for the LS460 2017s with the LC500 later this year...
Not to mention, also, most owners are reluctant to give them up.....

Given the current average market value for 12 year old LS430s there is no way I'd sell or trade my car even though I'd likely get a bit of a premium over average price. I'd like to keep my 2006 LS until apprx 2026. I still love it and it looks, runs, and drives like a much newer car. Even with 99k miles on it, at idle it is almost impossible to feel or hear the motor running, it is glass smooth. I bet more than a few current owners feel the same way about their LS430.

I still search on cars.com, and there doesn't seem to be a shortage of '06's? Because I filter by 2006. There usually are 70+ available, although, I dunno how up to date it is, but I think it's fairly up to date? I admit, I'm not seeing as many anymore with 60k or so. Still don't see 300k either, but getting closer....
I don't see any reason why I would not keep mine forever. I love my car, I avoided a $20k+ loan by not getting a new car, and it seems to need nothing at this point and has 95k. There's a guy in the office who sells cars on the side, he told me my LS430 is worth 7-8k, no need to be offended, he's in the business. I paid $14,xxx last Oct. This means, if I wanted cash, he'd hand me up to $8000 tomorrow if I wanted it.

the original poster is in Hawaii, so he cannot just go 1 state over to grab a good car. I can look at a lot of 2006 and just drive to New Mexico or Oklahoma if I don't find what I want in Texas. poor guy must suffer in paradise

Yup. It's pretty rough. But on the LS, 04s are fetching only about 5k with 100k so it's a buyers market. Only issue is i want a car I can also list on Turo which by next year will be 06 and newer

I think it's just production numbers that would make 06's less? Plus as I've mentioned, I went to a Lexus event in summer 2005 at Belmont Raceway, and nobody was interested in driving the LS cars, nobody. Long lines for the other cars, especially the 2006 BMW 330i that they brought, that was actually the most popular. Convertibles and even the IS were popular too. So it would make sense that production went down. I'd really be curious what the out the door prices were, on say a LS that was $65k?

Strange since the facelift was 04-06. There's the "transmission isn't as good" nonsense. Lexus did a factory recall and replaced the defective ones w/ a brand new improved design.
