I driving along at about 45mph in my ls430 with about 191K miles. All of a sudden I have no throttle response. Then the check engine light comes on followed by the VSC light. I pull over and basically can't accelerate at all.I put the car in neutral and the tach shoots to 2000 rpm. I shut the car off and I pull the battery cable to try to reset the computer. I am able to limp on home with very weak acceleration and both the same lights came back on. Any ideas?

a kind of similar problem on an old gs300 points to a sensor near the throttle body (easy to fix but hard to find $400 part). Next time pull the diag code and put it into google see what comes up.

Im a proponent of the fresh battery. It may be under warranty or it only has so many months, so a new battery isn't a total waste anyway. It's good peace of mind if you have electrical gremlins.
Codes may not be battery related but can still be a result of a bad battery
