Default Change A/C Filter warning

I get that every time I start my LS as of yesterday afternoon. Is it just the charcoal filter located in the boot that needs changing? Or is it something else?

Hold down the AC button and then turn on the power/engine off. You should see the AC reset. Or if not, make sure the maintenance minder has been reset in the vehicle option on the nav screen display settings.

Better yet, take the car back to wherever it got serviced and complain to the service writer. Have the technician perform the reset for you.

I wonder what the actual interval is? Last oct I replaced mine and it was full of all kinds of tree material and dirt. I didn't even know there was a reminder at the time, and nearly 1 yr. later, it still has not come on....

I just ordered 6 Denso 453 1007's from rock. Not really sure why I only had bought 1 last year. Added some front/rear brake hardware (the clips) to overcome the $6.99 shipping. But with that 5% off the shipping got even more palatable, and the prices are way cheaper anyway, like $11 vs. $15 at walmart and $17 at amazon (if just one filter alone saves $4, the $6.99 spread across 8 items works)

I don't have Nav (only a JDM-spec ML) but I'll do the AC reset when I'm at the car next. Good to see there's a cabin filter up front in the usual spot as well as the one in the boot (because I checked it about 6 months ago and it looked brand new). I'll pop that out over the weekend. I also don't think that's seen the inside of a Toyota dealership since it arrived here in NZ. I'd imagine there's a pressure sensor upstream of the filter that can tell when the filter is all clogged up based on upstream pressure

I'm set for a long time, just had 6 Densos come in from Rock, they were around $11 plus 5% off, much cheaper than online....I got 6 to spread the shipping charges out. With the front/rear brake hardware, it was $7.99. Checked everywhere and the going price seems to be $15-$17 each, so rock wins....p.s. not sure why last year I bought only 1 online, should have gotten more...

As it turns out, holding the A/C button and shutting the car off does nothing. Probably should have checked the owners manual (strange that it even has one given its JDM) when it first did this, but the reset procedure was hold the OFF button for 4 seconds with the power on, and an A/C RESET message comes up in the MFD. I just shook all the schmoo out of the filter and whacked it on the ground a dozen times. I might get a new one eventually
