Default New to the forum - Just bought an '04 LS430

Hey guys! I'm Cat and I'm new to the forum here. Looks like a fantastic resource.

I just bought a 2004 LS430 with 84k miles. Loving it so far!

Looking forward to browsing around here!

Congrats! The exhaust tips look larger that stock? I'm envious your rear sunshade appears to be functional!

Thanks! And I'm not sure about the exhaust tips, I'll have to take a look. Rear sunshade works like a charm!

btw....I got mine at 81k last Oct. (now at 96k+)....and when I went to the indie for the LCA bushing replacements....they suggested 3 drain/fills of my tranny (we don't have a dipstick). I asked if there would be any chance of ruining my tranny by touching it, and was told, not at your mileage, and we never flush, only drain, and refill (only get like 2.5-3 qt out at a time, and after 3, 17% of old fluid is left behind)...you might want to consider since your mileage is still relatively low....also of course the timing belt/water pump is due if never done before....

Congratulations on the nice ride. I suggest you tint the car to help keep the sun off the leather. It doesn't have to be a complete blackout of the windows. Do what's legal in your state. At least 35% on front windows.

Great pick up. Was it from a dealer or from a private party?

Thanks! I got it from a small used car dealership that exclusively sells luxury vehicles. I got it for $11,900. After doing some research I think I got a decent, middle-of-the-road deal for the Mid-Atlantic area. Fortunately I had a trade in so I didn't have to pay much out of pocket. There was a CarMax nearby that had one with quite a few more miles on it and the same features and they wanted $15k!

Haha, nope, not me! I'm fortunate enough to be a work-from-home employee, which means my LS will be mostly garage-kept and I'll keep the miles low. Although I'll probably will be taking more drives just for the heck of it since the ride is a dream.

Thanks Kira X! Yeah, it's really clean and in awesome shape.

Only two minor things I need to take care of are some loose weatherstripping on the rear right door (already ordered an OEM replacement) and the center armrest lid won't stay shut without the pressure of my arm on it. I think the little clip that clamps it shut is broken. I need to do a little more research on what exactly is broken and how to fix it.

Everything else is amazing.
