Default Wheel fitment question...

Was going to stay with my stock 18s, but I've always got my eye out just in case something comes along. Found a set of wheels, 18x8 +46.... so they are +1 over the stock offset and .5" wider. Would these fit without issue on stock suspension and without fender modification? I'm pretty sure they would without issue, just curious about other people's opinions. I have no desire to go larger than a 18" wheel, which probably makes me somewhat of an outcast.

Wheels in question are Leon Hardiritt Waffes.

well 1/2" is 12.7mm. so you are adding a very small amount to the amount of rim width over. 12.7mm - 1mm wider. I don't think you would have an issues. FWIW my LS has aftermarket 18's that are 18x8 35mm offset, stock suspension and its no where near rubbing. plenty of room. Those are good looking wheels BTW, if you get them I'd like to see what they look like in an 18" size. Also...let me know if you want to sell those stock 18's

I guess what threw me is Tire Rack saying that any 18" wheel needs to be +42 offset or greater or fender modification may be needed. Guess they are just covering their butts. I was set on finding some TE-37s, but I don't think those suit the lines of the LS430. I really like the BBS LM, and in gold it would be perfect on my car. These Waffes came up and I'm tempted to pull the trigger, though they need some refinishing, which isn't a big deal.

Original plan was just to refinish my stock 18s. They each have just a touch of curb rash... will probably just refinish them anyways.

mykvr6, what size tires do you have on your 18s?

Make sure the rims clear your calipers also.

Bumping an old thread. The hunt for wheels continues. I've found a set of the optional BBS RG wheels that you could get from Toyota. The problem is, I can't tell what the offset was on the original rims and there is no information out there on them, other than me ordering the two page catalog which will be about $40 after fees. It seems Toyota offered several flavors of these, some that are 18x7.5 +45 (ideal for LS430) and some that are 18x8 +50. There are several sets going right now, but the most perfect set is 18x8 +50 for all four.

I've never seen anyone running that high of an offset here. What's the opinion on this? My car is stock suspension and unmodified fenders.

The BBS RG wheels are very stylish and are forged, so they are both strong and light weight. I was really set on a full face style rim like the Waffe or the Kranze Bazeria, but this would be a fun direction to go in.

Here is a screen shot of the catalog for clicks. YAJ doesn't do high resolution photos, nor do they let you save photos, so I had to take a screen shot and crop it down. This is currently going for 2,000¥... like I said, after fees and shipping it would be about $40. Wish I could zoom in for the specs...

Your gonna be fine I think my rims are a +40 offset or +44 I cant remember exactly I am also running 8.5 wide while lowered 3 inches all around and I have 0 problems. Only time anything rubs is when I hit huge dip in the road going 50 mph up.
