LS430 Mark Levinson Front Tweeters Discontinued
I have tried in vain to find the front left and right tweeters for my 2004 LS 430 - Description calls them Speaker Trim Panel - part numbers are 55408-50090-E1 and 55409-50030-E1.
All the dealers says they are "Discontinued". Bummer.
Anyone know a specialist that repairs tweeters? Or are there any members who are aware of after market tweeters that could SAFELY be used with the Mark Levinson Amplifier?
Any thoughts / ideas welcome.
Thanks

Not too sure about what it takes to change them - but the fact the Lexus Dealerships I have called all say the same thing - "These are discontinued".
Bummer.
I am hoping some of the more technical members on this forum can suggest a suitable / safe replacement, or a business that rebuilds tweeters.
Thanks

I hope dash doesn't have to be removed.

I've been on this Forum for quite some time.... Never heard about tweeters popping out, but of course as our cars age, there are always shortcuts to save big money on lesser valued cars.. Who knows?

If you are willing to deviate from OEM, a cheaper option would be to replace/relocate the tweeters to the door, like the posting below...

Ah you just reminded me they're not in the doors....let us know what you find since we may cross the same bridge eventually....I used to love this stuff when I was a kid, not so much anymore...my buddy's dad used to get new cars and delete the stereo, and he'd give me the cars for a couple of weeks while I installed a system for him ($100 bucks was a lot of money to me, he'd usually pay that)....now I'll date myself, a lot of the systems were Alpine, Soundstream, and Blaupunkt lol

I believe you can replace the right side tweeter by removing the glovebox and somehow accessing that way but if I remember correctly, you have to pull the dash to replace the left side.

Here is a bit of an update.
The part number I was told by Lexus Dealers that was discontinued is 55408-50090-E1. I have just been told a Lexus parts specialist in Raleigh this is a number for the trim - not the speaker.
The dashboard tweeter is 86160-0W230 and there is availability for these at this time.
The front door speaker 86160-0W240 is back ordered across the nation.
Sorry for any confusion I created.

you do NOT need to pull the dahs to replace the left tweeter...my friend upgraded my whole system and i replaced the tweeters on the dash without any type of removal. IF you know someone that has experience it can be done, its not the easiest but it is doable. Also fyi...if you do ever upgrade the tweeters don't get anything too loud cause the sound shoots straight back to you because of the placement of the tweeter and how close it is to the windshield.

Hi all,
My driver’s side tweeter (a 2-way speaker) is starting to go bad. It looks to be discontinued (part #86160-0W230). Has anyone replaced theirs? I am seeing several used ones on eBay which could work. Wondering how intense the labor is to install these…thanks

Why do you say discontinued? I just went to https://www.lexuspartsnow.com/ and popped in that part number. Not cheap, but available...
