Is the CD changer just screwed onto the radio? Or is it one unit or soldiered together. I'm planning on removing it to put in an aux input.

Not connected on the Mark Levinson models. All of the connections are plug in. I had mine replaced at a Best Buy store and they did it in about an hour or less. Said it was pretty easy. Mine was a simple R & R though. Yours will take awhile.

Mine is the pioneer unit. They should be detachable, but it's tough to tell with pictures of the brackets connected.
