hahaha nah I would be a lot richer if it was and thanks I would like to change the actually tubing to a smooth pipe so there is less resistance for the flowing air but I don't want to cut the front radiator support to fit the piping in so semi flexible tubing it is.

The hardest part I am having is the power steering lines are kinda in the way and I am trying to make a straight piece for the heat shield which is kinda difficult due to the frame being at a slight incline and the radiator placement as well as the power steering lines like I stated above.

The items circled in purple are going to be the points were it will bolt on and the places circled in red are the problem areas underneath the cold air intake the ps lines run on the frame and the area by the ps reservoir has a bunch of stuff that I will have to move or adjust my design to get the heat shield to sit flush against the strut tower.

The bolt hole circled in purple closest to the fender is were the top lid is going to be bolted up, like I said I am still designing it. Something can look awsome on paper then when yo u go and try to apply it in reality there is always some variable that you left out lol.

Here is the latest I got the tubing duct and reduced the reducer is the wrong size so i am sending it back and ordering another one which will be here in 2 weeks.

That's were the duct is it's on the drivers side i have to get rid of the sharp edges that's why there is the tape on it. It will have plain black gorilla tape when it is all put in place
That is the tubing it is bent up over the power steering lines so it does not interfere with them cooling.

The only things left are to trim everything up make sure there is no sharp edges sticking out, install the reducer and finish making the heat shield.

There is a bracket in the middle that extends down and it bolts to the thermostat housing so it's not just attached at the throttle body. The bracket is circled in purple.

So the air tube is a conduit which attaches to mouth of throttle body....

Just be sure you allow clearance to account for movement of the air cleaner.

Have a second person hold brake and place in drive (at higher cold idle) and observe how engine movement raises and lowers the air filter when transmission is engaged and disengaged

Also consider....when our motor mounts wear out (Mounts do not employ a safety catch like many American cars) and or break, there is even more movement of engine...

I know that my motor mounts and transmission mount are fine I inspected them thoroughly when I installed my headers 6000 miles ago, but that is a valid point you raise so on the heat shield portion that is bolted to the car should I make the hole a little bigger and instal a rubber gromet around the intake tube that way if it does move it has a little bit of play?

Is the corrugated ducting, obstructing air flow to the radiator?

On my Subaru I didn't use any ducting to direct air to the intake. I gutted the headlight units and cut openings in the lenses.
Its got a massive turbo, currently tuned to 420 WHP.

Where there's a will, there's a way. Keep at it, customize all you want, more power to ya for trying.

I do not think it would be instructing it I am not doing hotlaps or anything like that so i am not to worried about that I will know for sure when I drive the car again in the spring.

I would never do the duct headlight thing the headlights for the ls430 are $1400 a piece so not gutted headlights for this guy lol and thanks man i appreciate it were are you located I would love to come and see your cars.

Ok cool killer car man I am deffinetly a fan you have any drag strip times? Best 60foot? I want to take the ls430 to Watkins Glen and see what time I can do in my ls430 after I install all the chassis braces and other stuff.

This used to be a drag car 650 WHP. Guy blew the motor and I bought the chassis/transmission ect. Tilton clutch, JDM 5th & 6th gear, tricked out car for $9,000.
Bought a motor off of eBay, sent it to a builder and they built the crap outta it for $15,000.
It's a track day/circuit car now.
