2nd video, we had to lay off the power...due to Laguna's sound ****. The car's waay too loud. On the uphill towards the corkscrew, I had to lay off the pedal.
Doing 140MPH past the finish line, then into Andretti Hairpin....Subaru understeers, then loses more time at the back end of The CorkScrew.

Novice driver went faster than Bernd Schneider, im a Mercedes AMG

I'm completely jacking you're thread, but we all love cars....and I ...especially love thrashing motors. Laguna Seca 2010. That Viper in the video, set a lap record.
K-Pax Volvo was there, multi-million dollar endeavor, with one of the best drivers ever.... ( Randy Probst) ..did a 1:27+/- and we competed in their class.

Bro you are fine I am really into this stuff and yah the k-pax Volvo is serious man no joke I have seen it run some laps and it's insane that and the sound it makes is crazy. The fact your running in the same class as it says a lot you would be in the unlimited class correct?

I am still waiting for the adapter for the pipe from the duct, down the road i would like to redo the shield from galvanized steel so its more solid this is a "rough" draft.

So finally got the adapter in the mail just have to tie down everything then it will be done.
All the air will be going to that duct and blow onto the filter.

Perhaps he's thinking that inlet duct will block air movement across the radiator, but it looks like it's below the area in front of the rad. Not to mention there's still a boatload of CFM's flowing through that area. Even more with the aux fans running.

I for one, prefer function over form. Looks great so far.

Yah you are right there is a bunch of space for air to get by and thank you I appreciate it. I agree with you it does not look the greatest but it works, there was a decent breeze and I felt the air coming through at the end by the filter so that coupled with the heat shield should work.

The next thing I wanna do is the aluminum skidplate

Following this thread with interest, given my LS430 is being built into a burnout car that will do occasional drag duties. I need a fairly consistent supply of cooler air than what I get with the factory airbox. Last time I was on the pad heatsoak wasn't too bad however it didn't take long at all to overheat the engine. It was brought up earlier in the thread about the filter sucking in hot air from the radiator, now I had got a 14.9 (can't remember trap speed) with the factory over the radiator snorkel fitted. It looks like a massive restriction but interestingly I was 0.4 of a second slower over the 1/4 mile just by removing it, and gas consumption was through the roof. It was also noticeable at how much power was lost through heatsoak at the pre-stage burnout. I really struggled to get the tyres (205-wide sketchy looking Federals) going over wet concrete and it didn't want to hold the burnout very well, but with the snorkel fitted, I could hose a set of 215 wide OEM-grade Michelins with ease. Its amazing how much a car can suffer with heatsoak.

I notice in the pre-facelift cars, there are two ducts in the bottom of the front bumper that appear to direct air to the brakes. Now while these are handy if you are hard on your brakes (like myself sometimes), this could be a good place to run a cool air snorkel. Although I might need to remove the R/F guard to see how to route the ducting to the airbox.

After this, you should find out how the 3UZ handles nitrous, or methanol/water injection...

I want to get an exhaust done first, some new rims (tsw sochi), over fenders, aluminum skid plate, custom headlights, then possibly a 25 shot or a custom turbo kit maybe a rear mount dk yet.

Cool project.... Did you dyno it before so you can see any gains you may get after you are done with it?
