Located a 2002 LS430 Executive Package -- Questions
Hey all,
Been in the market for the right LS and I have some questions. This car is the executive package and I am curious as to what to look for when I go over the vehicle. I have never looked at an LS with this package, so any help would be much appreciated. Any common issues with this year model car I should look for as well? Wanted an 04+, but the miles are right on this car.
Thanks so much!

I believe Lexus started to offer an "Executive" seating package on its 2006-2009 LS460L, which included a rear-seat DVD entertainment system, a swivel tray table, and a shiatsu massaging ottoman seat.
I don't see any mentioning of an "Executive" package on a 2002.

The number one thing to check for on a UL
Check the air suspension. I have a 2002 UL with 104,000 miles. I purchased it as a CPO car when it had 24,000. I had air suspension problems during warranty, and after throwing a lot of parts on the car over seven visits, Lexus never fixed it. I kept telling them that the air struts were the problem, but they kept telling me that the struts were fine. Lexus refused to help me when the dealer told me that my right side air struts were leaking.
Air suspension is prone to problems. Rubber bladders eventually dry rot, sensors get old, etc. Instead of shelling out $3,400 to replace two air struts, I simply converted the car to coils and springs. I like the air suspension comfort, but I prefer the "European" ride and handling of my new suspension. When I bought the car, I did not realize that the Ultra was the only LS with air suspension....all other editions are coil spring; therefore, I could not find any off brand or rebuilt air struts.
Other than that, you will love the car. I have kept mine in pristine condition. The semi-analine leather looks new, the Alcantera headliner is beautiful, and people who ride in can't believe the year, and love the toys that come with the car. The Lexus certified tech that takes care of the car continues to tell me to hold on to it, and not trade up to a 460, as he believes that the 430 is a better car. I must admit, I do like the newest version of the 460. Good luck with your hunting and purchase.
