looks like that $390 number is list...found OE on eBay for about $186. I will probably do it....not today, but eventually....my bro gave me $100 eBay for XMAS, maybe wait for an auto parts offer to take another $20 off, then pull the trigger....

Go to the Dollar Tree and buy one of those wide-view convex 2 inch mirrors and stick it right in the middle of the existing mirror.

Problem solved.

Actually, if you're going to replace the mirror, you should do the whole "folding mirror mod/update" that was outlined in this thread;

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-3rd-gen-2001-2006/638886-ls430-power-folding-mirror-problem-fixed-for-05-cents.html

I
may do that this summer to my '05, as that's the only thing not 100% on that car..

I couldn't follow the link for some reason...but I never fold my mirrors thinking rather have someone hit it as opposed to dinging the door....I probably will break down and fix it...my 3 favorite features on all cars are rain sensing wipers, auto dimming mirrors, and xenon headlamps...

When you click on the link it gives an error (requested page not found). The issue for some reason, it has .htmll at the end with an extra L. Just delete the second L and the page loads fine.

haha doesn't the same thing happen when we paste amazon links sometimes? Anyway cheap fix....reminds me of a rattle my wife's SUV had. Dealer looked it over extensively under warranty and they concluded oh yeah your rear license frame was loose, we traced it.

NOPE. It turned out to be the headliner around the rear sunroof. I cut tiny pieces of foam, inserted them, no more noise...

As I understand it, there is gel inside which causes it to dim at night when the rearview dims, and somehow the gel gets messed up....so if I got a new glass, it should be normal again...I really like the feature....I didn't notice it XMAS 2016, but my wife did....it's definitely gotten much bigger...

The above or maybe the previous owner had an android sticker and couldn't peel it all off properly...

No problem at all. No offense taken.

I had a 1992 Buick Park Avenue Ultra which had dimming side view mirrors. My driver side started leaking the fluid out, and it would collect on the bottom of the mirror and dry into a crusty mess. I'm not sure what that electro-chromatic fluid is, but it dries as hard as epoxy.
