Saw a '04-'06 today, did not appear to be burned out. I checked my car again in a reflection, does not appear to be burned out. At some point I'll ask my wife to step on the brake pedal so I can take a closer look.

My 05 LS430 has the driver side inside (trunk one) upper LED light flickering. I just bought it used 2 months ago and did not notice it at the time since it is somewhat lit still and it passed inspection since the outside tail light works fine. I thought about replacing it but don't want to pay that much for a new one.

It's not usually the brake light - it's the running light when your headlights are on.

Mine was burnt out at the very top inner tail light (the small trunk mounted one) when I got it. I had the dealership install a new part. My brother who works at Lexus says its very common and they see LS430 with this issue all the time.

Guess you're not buying a new car for the next 20 years ....(think about it literally, there are tons of mid 90's Japanese cars driving around today--I seem to see more GS300 and 400's than I do LS430s)
p.s. I think the same way as this is how I was brought up. Go to the general car chat and see how our cars are referred to as "very old cars," like we should not be within 300' of a Lexus dealer without an escort

It basically sits in the garage as is, I drive my Yukon most of the time. I put 3500 miles on the LS last year, so it very well could last another 20 years. (137k miles total.)
Sorry to take this OT, everyone.

Ah.....gotcha. That I can check on my own...but I will check with lights on, then wife stepping on the brakes, to make sure all the leds are lit. When I first got my car I found the tails to be quite odd looking, I guess this is late 2003 technology. I remember some year of Honda Civics mimicking this look using regular bulbs, and thinking how ridiculous it looks--little did I know I would get the car that invented this look. It seemed like the trend around 2006 was led light bars to resemble the flow of neon. This is not that at all....and I didn't even know my 2006 would have it until I saw the brochure online...

I'm also in ATL, and probably in the latter category. I'm 30 but love this thing
