Default Rattle inside CD Changer cover/lid

Anybody know if the wood trim separates easily from the plastic backing on the CD changer cover?

I am not sure what is going on here, but it sounds like there is loose s*** inside this wood cover stuck between the black plastic backing and the actual outside wood. Like little pebbles or sand. Giving it a light tap with your finger makes it rattle and so do most bumps in the road. It's literally the only rattle spot in the entire cabin.

Driving me nuts.

Hmm, based on the lack of responses, I am guessing this is not a "common issue" with the LS430 and more of an isolated problem that I am dealing with. I will probably put a strip of foam tape inside the lid and see if that maybe cures the problem.

I looked to see if i could find anything about taking that apart but could not, it may be that it is clips and an adhesive or glue. So if you are gonna take it apart remove it from the dash and put it in a an oven on a baking sheet for like 2-8 mins on 140-160 then get spackle/paint scrapers and use them to pry it apart carefully.

Is it coming from the flip tray for the changer? Or could it be from the slideout compartment tray? When I get home later today I’ll look it up in my repair manual and let you know.

This is all I found on this- I just see the 4 screws that hold the tape/CD changer together.
