Default Having trouble getting the steering column cover off

As my steering wheel is stuck at its lowest position, I tried to do a fix that I have seen many here have done. I removed the three screws holding the steering column cover in place and tried to open up the lower cover. However, I couldn't seem to get the cover off despite using quite a bit of force, it seems like its clipped together tight with the upper cover. Is there any trick to getting the lower cover off? Thanks for any advice!

Here is a view from the inside... The 2 halves are just snapped together as indicated in the picture below.

Just probably needs a litte bit more force. Once it comes apart just needs to be wiggled out in place. Also be careful with the bottom piece, mine split a little bit where you can see in the above pic to the right/left of that metal tab.

I lubricated my steering wheel motors when you go to take the plastic off were the seam is push the bottom piece in and use a flat screw driver with some tape over the point and gently insert it in the seem and use that to push the top and bottom apart just dont jam it in there though and break the clip.
