Default Quietest 20” Tires?

What tires does everyone recommend for 20” rims? I do not want to shell out $300 a piece on Pilot Sports as this car is not really built to utilize their capabilities. I prefer a comfortable (as can be on 20s) quiet ride and decent wet performance. I believe compatible tire sizes are 235/35 and 255/30. Thanks in advance!

Tirerack.com has tests and tables based on real ownership experience which will give you your info.

You can order what you need and have it shipped to a local installer.

I am not sure about 20” tires and if some other factors may play role there, but I have had incredibly great experience with Kumho tires that are made using South Korean technology. They are very quiet, affordable, soft and have amazing properties for racing.

26.7" is the near stock diameter, the 245/35-20 is 26.8". My suggestions to look into would be the Yokohama S-Drive (summer) and the Continental DWS-06 (AS). I've had those in 18" and for quiet they are good to my ears. When CA had those big rains last year, the Continental DWS-06 worked well on the LS400. Can't overcome physics though for relative driving conditions I liked them.

Thanks for the advise, all. Anybody try the Toyo Extensa HP or HP 2? I see mostly good reviews, but some so so ones.

I have 10” wide Niche Targas so have to get the wider 255 tires. Has anyone put 245’s on a 10” wide wheel? Is it super stretched?

I have a 245 on a 10 inch wide wheel and it's pretty stretched.

did you do anything to the wheel wells at all? I would like to get new rims and do overfenders and am curious if you need to modify them. I plan on going with a 10.5.

Nothing done to the wheel wells at all. No rubbing even at full lock. Not sure about 10.5” though.

Be cheaper to buy a used set of 17" rims and buy new 17" tires. Also quieter.

Thanks, but the car came with factory 18’s. Its all about the look, man

I’m looking for actual experiences with a particular model 20” tire. How many miles they lasted? Did you do rotations? Did they get louder as they wore? Traction in dry vs wet?
