Hood still isn't done, took a break and to be honest I'm a little discouraged at the moment. I body filled all the dings but I can still feel them. I'm going to spend the extra 50 bucks and spray some high build primer so I can tell what needs work.

Take a break. Get your thoughts together and come back to it in a few days. Do it right the first time and you'll be quite satisfied with the results.

You'll get there...

Thanks. I put down 4 coats of high build primer and I it looks pretty good. Just need to block sand and do a final thinner coat of primer.

Good news, the hood leveled out. Going to make one more wetsand pass with 600 grit and it will be ready for paint.

Did some minor glazing to make the hood perfectly level. Definitely ready for paint now. Next post will be of the car assembled.

It's gonna look great when you're done. Now if you can keep the bugs out of the paint while it's drying....

Great work! Amazing to see an LS430 being resurrected back to life like this. Reminds me of my first LS430, silver and UL trim. Those were the days...

Silver is just gorgeous on an LS430.

I plan to paint the hood tomorrow morning. So far I've be lucky with bugs or any debris.

Thanks King, I just checked out your build and your car looks awesome.

I washed the car tonight, it was filthy from sanding dust and wetsanding.

Yeah, I just sprayed degreaser and used a pressure washer.

So the hood is done and that is about all I can say lol. I will be getting it professionally done later. My body work and the hood had too many disagreements.

Got the hood wetsanded with 1500 grit, looks like it will level out decent. At least the orange peel is gone. I wont know how it look until I do the finer grits and compound+polish. So it wasn't a total failure.

Thanks. The hose I was using to keep the floor wet is very old and with the nozzle off it split and sprayed water everywhere lol. I can't be mad though. I polished out a section, it is acceptable for now. Got a quote from a friend to get it fixed later. Got the gaps and headlights massaged. Passenger headlight need to be pulled apart and resealed. My fault since I tried to reuse the original gasket.

Almost done, just need to finish wetsanding the hood and a few spots on the bumper and fender, then polish.
