Default OH Yeah

Bought my 2001LS 430 last year, 272,000 miles. Absolutely perfect car, everything still like new. Never paid attention to Lexus, didn't even know what a 430 was. Now I have drank the koolade. I will drive this car the rest of my life. It is bulletproof. So yes get that car, you'll be pleased you did.

No two cars are the same. Period. Ben... yes you are a lucky guy, but the next car can be problematic. This guy should have the car checked out regardless.

Modified is an entirely different story. Be careful, unless 5 grand is not an issue. Good luck.

I bought a fully stock 01 with 126k miles for $5,400 a couple years ago. Expect some repairs/maintenance. I don't put on many miles per year.

I did the timing belt and one catalytic converter. Not cheap maintenance, but worth it to keep the smooth riding beast going.

I have an issue with my starter. Every 10-12 starts I will turn the key and just the dash lights come on. It might take 5 or 10 attempts and it will finally kick in. Likely a bad spot on the starter. It hasn't failed to start yet. I assume that is coming.

Do you like the "modded" look? Does the car come with the stock wheels/tires? It is a lot of car you get for $5k, but there can be issues as with any used car.

Buying a modded car is always a gamble you dont know if it was cobbled together, the guy lowered the car so there is possibly adjustable camber, toe, castor arms or not, so you could have really bad tire wear. That is just off the top of my head you really so not know until you have to fix someone elses mistakes approach the car with caution, and assume its a pos.

Sorry... I can never blindly recommend someone buy a car without having checked it out myself, or getting it checked you. Obviously, you can, as you recommended he buy the car, Bocatrip recommended he get it checked out as no two cars are the same. Each of you gave different answers to the same question. Exactly what this forum should be about.

You've got a whopping 5 posts on this forum and your upset because some spelled out 'period'. Someone needs to chill.
