Amp not powering up with aftermarket head unit

Amp not powering up with aftermarket head unit
2004 LS 430 without navigation. Trying to install new head unit. The Mark Levinson amp will not power up with new unit.
If I plug up factory head and leave the key on, I can disconnect the factory unit while playing and hook up the aftermarket head and it plays fine until I turn off the key. The aftermarket unit will power up fine when you cycle
the key but no amp.
I am using a factory harness from Crutchfield. We have tried two different but identical heads and two different wiring harnesses. Any ideas.
I don’t think there is any trigger voltage getting back to the amp but I am not sure how to verify at the amp.
