Water Pump on 04 lexus ls430
It is time to change the Timing belt on my 04 Lexux LS430. I have always been told to use a Toyota water pump. The mechanic tells me now that the timing belt kit contains a water pump from China. Has anyone had any experience with this water pump. It will cost about another $100 to use a toyota water pump.. Would like to hear some opinions.

Consider how much work it takes to replace it and the next time it's scheduled for replacement is 90,000 miles away, I would vote "No" for the Chinese water pump. The "savings" is not worth the risk.

If you know where to look the Toyota pump is just over a hundred bucks...

Rockauto sells TB kits without the water pump for around $70 depending on brand. I don't think you can buy an Aisin kit this way but there are reputable brands such as Gates, Dayco etc.

Not just that but if it leaks shortly after install you'll be kicking yourself for not spending the extra $100 for the OEM parts. With something this major for the average person, spending the extra $100 to potentially not have the extra headache is money well spent. Buy the OEM water pump and don't look back...just my opinion.
