Thats exactly what I saw as well that is a great indicator that it was not taken care of very well.

thank guys, Lexus dealer came back to me and agree $15k OTD price (as I wish). They said it really need to be done before the end of March. I will down 5k, and loan 10k from dredit union (already approved). I don't know why they want me to apply Lexus Financing Application online as a backup loan. Any idea? I'm not in the rush to buy a car right now.

Yes, Carfax said the timing belt is replaced at 71k miles https://www.carfax.com/VehicleHistory/p/Report.cfx?partner=CBT_4&vin=JTHBN36FX65036067&cs:rv=C7620F475B84418E1AB274DBBB3B8FE2

Yes, I'm local at Portland and no sale tax in here. Did you guys include taxes and fee in your price? Should I negotiate down some more?
I use zipcode 97225.

Even $15K is too high. I got offers of $4.5K-$6.5K for my 04 LS430 when I was planning to trade it in for Ls460. You can imagine the margin.
Several others have chimed in on price and I agree with them. Don't over pay. It looks like the dealer is motivated. Take the opportunity to get the killer deal. If they don't sell, it will go to auction and they will get peanuts. You have an upper hand. Walk out at $12K.

I personally wouldn't buy LS430 with Air suspension unless it was a killer deal that allows me to convert it to standard suspension later.

If you still feel like overspending, buy my car.

Just me, but is it a good idea to borrow 10k on a 2006 car....I thought one of the reasons to buy used, not new, was to avoid a loan. I asked, and when the guy said the interest would be 2.99% I said whoa, no way (credit union was 2.49% at the time for a 10 y.o. car and 1.49% for new or late model). The salesperson said I know it's a used car, you're better off paying cash for it. The way I see it is there is always the temptation to borrow, and one of the justifications I see is that, "It's 0%, I can do better than that with bitcoin." And the it has to be done by such and such a date, I walk away from those, they want to close before you use reason instead of emotion imho.... my .02

edit p.s. no sales tax in my number, but there shouldn't be any fees either, unless it's the straight up DMV amount. Otherwise, get the plates yourself, i.e. register yourself.

Make sure your are already approved specifically for this car. NADA or Kelly Blue Book might not list the car worth $10k and if they don't then there is a good chance the credit union won't let you borrow that money. They shouldn't care how good of shape or how bad you want the car, they should only be lending the max amount the car is worth on the books.
