Ironically, this was just recently brought up. Just a few post down.

Great show and tell on how to change out the bottom seat and it was only $288 something for the seat replacement.

Is that what your asking?

I read that thread I was talking about taking the seat apart and using steam and other stuff to make the foam more pliable and soft again see below link.

I was doing this for a customers car and I had a epiphany and was like I wonder if anyone has done this to an ls430 and if it will cure the hard seat problem.

Well that's cool, but how long does it last? Does the colapse when the moisture dries? How does the steam affect seat heating?

I was reading the comments on the YouTube link and the repair is an alternative to replacement as it won’t last as long. That’s what the general consensus was.... This repair is done with the seat disassembled so nothing but the seat foam is effected.

When I have done it its lasted a year or two max you have to let the seat dry all the way before reinstalling it is more like a bandaid fix instead of re-foaming the seat. It also depends on a bunch of factors such as seat usage, weight how you get in and out of the car, some people are harder on stuff then others.

The steam and moisture just re inflate the cushion and makes the dry crumbly foam pliable again instead of just crumbling. It should have 0 effect on the seat heating/cooling it is just plumping the cushion to as close to factory fresh as it can so in theory it should work better but that is not always the case.
