Oh great, I was driving and turned off the radio because I thought I heard something. Sure enough, there was this

be de de - be de de - be de de very very low sound like that of a watch alarm. And it was with the car running or not. Just three beeps.

Maybe I should just turn the radio up louder?

Haha, I experienced something similar about 6 months ago. I parked the car in my garage and heard this low humming sound. I turned off the engine and the sound continued. I then disconnected the battery, and nope, that did not stop the humming. As it turned out, I had a cordless screwdriver in my tool bag in the trunk, and the contents in the bag shifted and pressed on the trigger.

If the noise you heard continues with the car parked and engine off, I would suggest disconnecting the battery to make sure it is not your car that is making the noise.
