What's broken on your LS?

Why would you say that? I sent mine back. I had no need for them and he gave me a prepaid shipping label. I was just a little extra work to tape them up in the box and stop by a mailbox place as it was to toss them in the trash. He sent me an email with a lifetime confirmation. So, as long as he is in business I should be able to get them replaced if something happens to them.

- Left rear door lock actuator. Locks if I double lock the doors (press the lock key twice).
- Bank 2 Sensor 1 lambda sensor, so dash is lit up like a Christmas tree. Have the sensor (Denso) and specialist sockets to swap it but no time to do it yet.
- ECU connector no longer connects to my ODB2 reader since I tried a cheap Techstream cable from eBay. It powers the reader but it won't connect.
- Aircon doesn't seem to be working for cooling. Not a major issue here in the UK. May see if It needs re-gassing.
Not a bad list for a 95,000 mile 2004. Drives like a dream.

I've run across this before on eBay but in this case it was to repair a Klipsch PC speaker system. In this case, the seller offered some $ to entice the buyer to send back their "core" unit...

Well he wouldn't be in business if the buyers never sent their cores back to him. He simply takes those units, pops a $6 motor into them and then resells them for $160 (at least for the LS) whenever he gets an order. His only costs are the motor and the shipping label to get the core back from the buyer. And of course his time. Nothing wrong with that by any means.

Either way, to get any kind of hopes of a warranty it was easy enough to send it back to him and I've stored his email that he sent me saying he received mine and I now have the warranty.
I will say, I bet he does more than just pop a motor in them. Either that or I got really luck on the condition of the actuators he sent me. The ones I got from him looked brand new even though I know they were rebuilt. The ones I took out of my car and sent to him were pretty rough looking. The had already been opened up, were dirty, and had electrical tape around them and all. For me it was well worth the money to buy them already done by someone with way more experience than me dealing with those actuators. I got a good deal on the car and just chalked up the $300 (I bought 2 actuators) to getting the car up to my standards. I still had to install them which wasn't that hard but also wasn't the easiest thing in the world either. The actuators in my GS were easier to install than on the LS in my opinion.

Currently, the list is growing.
Right front door glass (thief's first attempt)
Right rear door quarter glass (thief's second and more successful attempt)
Fan override relays (they got a bit moist)
1 knock sensor and/or wiring burnt out
Left bank VVT-i solenoid not working (also likely a bit moist)
Left rear wheel bearing badly worn
Steering column extend/retract motor dead
Driver's seat warmer fan broken
Radiator damaged by an exploding overflow tank
That's just the stuff I know about

Working on trying to get the heat shields over the rear mufflers mounted back up. They had rusted away around the nuts that hold them up.
Its not easy reaching in there to to try figure out how to get them re-attached without to much trouble, so far it sucks as for fitting my hands
in there is almost impossible.

- Front parking sensors giving false-postives. Going to try and repaint one of them since there's a chip on the paint.
- Mirror folding over-extends so I had to snip the wires. Keeping the switch off doesn't help since it still keeps tension when you start the LS
- Right mirror doesnt dim but not sure if it's supposed to or not. It never did since I've got it

I've had my 04 Modern Lux for almost 1k miles and here's everything I haven't fixed yet (70,500 miles total):
1. Rear drivers side window switch is broken. (parts have been ordered)
2. Sunglasses holder won't stay shut. - (I'm contemplating gluing it shut since I don't use it)
3. One key fob won't eject the emergency key. (new FOB on order)
4. Center console lid is loose.

1. Replaced all door speakers and subwoofer
2. Hood and trunk shocks
3. Rear passenger side window switch
4. Restored headlights
When I first got it I had my mechanic go through it and replace the timing belt, water pump, pulleys, valve cover gaskets, camshaft seal and spark plugs. Even at 18 years old it raises the bar on how cars should be made today. 2. Hood and trunk shocks
3. Rear passenger side window switch
4. Restored headlights

My sunglass holder doesnt like to close but its because the button itself that releases the holder doesn't come down on its own anymore. I have to nudge the button down with my finger every time and then close it, and works almost all the time. Might be a similar issue there.

2006 LS430 ML, 180k miles, mostly minor niggles:
Engine and transmission mounts are original and the engine mounts are visibly bad when brake-torquing the engine. Those are my priority for this year, still undecided on doing the engine mounts myself at the shop or dropping it off with a dealer. I will do the transmission my mount myself given how accessible it is.
Driver's door lock actuator was intermittent on locking in extremely hot weather last year, may replace the motor by itself if it's still problematic this year.
The center console bolts are ever so slightly loose but they haven't changed since I bought the car and it still opens without pushing the lid forward.
Passenger headlamp lens is cloudy/faded, got a DA a few weeks ago so I'll be polishing it up and coating it.
The wheels and center caps are all ruined in the manner of paint damage and chipping to the point where large swathes of un-coated aluminum are visible and oxidized. A new set of aftermarket equivalent 18" wheels is available for $876 from OE Wheels so I may replace those and get a nicer riding set of tires. It came with Solar 4XS and they are decidedly cheap tires with plenty of road noise.
I may also do another trans fluid drain/fill to replace another quart of fluid this year, didn't seem to do much when I swapped out the first original quart last year but it can't hurt.
I also need to give it a good wash and clay bar, then I plan to utilize my new DA to polish and wax the entire car. May take the time to use some wax/grease remover and fix a few more paint chips beforehand. I'd also like to try ceramic coating it instead of wax after the paint correction.
