How to know if a ls430 has radar cruise control?
I know you can check too see the plastic on the emblem to see if it has radar cruise control. But can a CL from early 2004 have it? A seller claims to have radar on a CL and theres no plastic emblem on the front emblem. I think he's mistaken but what is the difference between radar and laser? In the manual they seem the same.

You seem to be mixing up 2 different things. The plastic around the grill emblem signifies the Pre-Collision System (PCS). "Dynamic Laser Cruise Control" is part of the Custom Luxury option package and it denoted by a sensor below the grill at the bottom edge of the bumper. IIRC, it is to the right (passenger side) of center.

Millimeter-wave radar PCS system (2004-2006) is identified via the clear plastic shield on the front grille in front of the Lexus logo, e.g. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...-ul-w-pcs.html
Laser radar (LIDAR) cruise control (2000-2003) is identified via the LIDAR unit in the front bumper, lower right hand side, e.g. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...collision.html

Like they said, the plastic around the emblem is for the PCS system which brakes for you in the event that something is obstructing your path of motion. The radar cruise does not use this. Look for a little rectangular black box with a plastic cover in the bottom passenger side of the bumper.
If it is 2004, the vehicle will use radar, not laser for this. Radar is superior to the laser as it won't get confused during rain.
