Default Driver's Side Rear Courtesy Lamp-Help

The rear driver's side door courtesy lamp hasn't worked since I purchased the '04. Originally I thought it might just be a burnt out bulb but after removing the lens I can't locate the electrical connection. I pulled the bottom three door panel trim screws and used a door clip removal tool to create a gap to look for an errant wire but could not see it. My assumption based on the lens is that it comes in via the rear. Can someone tell me where the wire is supposed to be? If not, a link to how to remove the DS rear door panel would be very helpful.

Thanks for the help.

Lift up the rubber weatherstrip at the bottom edge of the door and remove 3 screws (circled in red in sketch below). You should be able to pry to door panel open slightly to look inside - you may have to lie on your back and look upward.

Thanks, those are the three screws I removed and then did exactly what you recommended. Since that was unsuccessful and you have the door panel picture, once I remove all of those screws (and the rear ashtray/window switch module) will the door panel just lift up or will I need to remove the top trim panel (wood)? Any tips on removing the door panel is appreciated.

Remove the screws the ash tray/window switch will have a harness plugged into so unplug it after all the screws are out slowly lift up on the door panel then unhook the metal wire on a ball attached to the door handle mechanism then the door panel will come right off.

Thanks. The harness for the courtesy light was routed over another harness clipped to the door above the back of the arm rest. In that position it could never reach the courtesy lamp. I suspect it was this way from the factory. After routing it down to the courtesy light it works fine. Sorry I didn’t get a picture.

I doubt it came that way from the factory. More likely from a previous owner.
