inrisls400 ,
I say paying 16,000 for the LS 430 its not bad just make sure that the 90k maintenance was done. Lexus doesn't give warranty after there car has 80k miles and my Opinion and i quote my opinion i love the 2001-2003 LS430 better than the 2004-2006 the front to me looks more bigger and more buff..... but i do like the back of the the 2004-2006... so go for it.......!!!!!!!!!!!

The miles the car has is good for a 2001UL LS430! Also miles are overrated! The services done on the car are what matters! You can have a 2001 UL with 65,000 miles that hasn't had proper service done to it that is in worse shape then a 90,000 mile car(service doone properly) if the service hasn't been done properly! If the service records checks out an upon an inspection of the car, go for it if it's what you want and you can afford the service schedule up keep! L.G.N.M

Smart choice to keep LS400 and fix it! If you change your mind though, I must say I've owned a few cars in the past! I had a S430 Benz and ML500 Benz and 3 GS's(2 300's,1 400) 1 ES300 and the LS430 is the only one I kept longer than 2 years! Best car choice I made. The service is pricey on regular scheduled services but, worth it at the end of the day and length of time the LS stays reliable! Again, smart staying with your LS400,best LS body style EVER!!!! Amen to that! My friend had an ultra luxury and had to sell it because he couldn't afford the suspension when it went out! This was a few years ago. Maybe someone has a more affordable solution? Till then, I tell all my friends to stay away from those UL packages.

My 2001 had 77K on it which was a mistake. My past 90LS400 / 94LS400 and 98LS400 I all bought AFTER 100K miles. Best move I ever made. Cheap cheap cars to drive. The 98 LS 400 had exactly 100K. Bought it in 2004, put 42K on in 24 months, then sold it for $12,500 (I paid $17K). My cost of ownership was only $180 a month (laughs!). The original owner paid $64K out the door. I should have never sold that car. It never had one problem (I am a service freak though and so was the guy I bought it from).

Then, I bought my 2001 LS430. Big mistake. It had 77K and I paid $22.5K back in 2006.
This was about $3500K below value back then but it didn't matter. Today it has 126K miles and it's only worth about $11K maybe $12K and I had to pay for a 90K service (ouch!).

The answer? I'm going to just keep it for now since there is no payment.

Only issue is the seats are NOT nearly as comfortable as my LS400's.

If anyone knows if I can put 2003 LS430 Seats with Air Conditioning in a 2001 LS430 please let me know!

Jay

PS - Always verify service records and pay a lexus dealer the $180 for the full inspection (money well spent). I love the Lexus. Will probably drive them the
rest of my life (of course, I said that about Honda Dirt Bikes and then KTM came along...)

As a UL owner I would say yes. For only a few dollars more you get a (when new) $14,000 package of goodies. I love the suede headliner and the upgraded leather in the doors. The back seats are a real trip as they recline, massage, heat and cool. Not to mention the optical? air filter and climate controls. Haven't had a chance to use the fridge yet but most of my passengers have enjoyed the ride. I know people on here hate the air suspension but I love the way it smooths out the rough pavement. Also the glass is thicker and quieter. You are gonna love your UL, I guarantee it.

Trust me I look forward to driving to work again and actually look for excuses to run errands, my only problem is I don't have an UL, but having the 430 is amazing! When I bought mine I did not research the car far enough and was not aware of how significant the differences are.

Default High mileage

I just don't get it. Toyota like Honda made their name by selling cars that drove forever. I have a 91 Civic with close to 400K on it, the body is falling off but the drive train is still better that most American made vehicles with 100K. I bought two Lexus vehicles this year one with 80K the other with 130K. Tha last thing that I am worried about is the mileage. If the body is sound and it feels good going down the highway I say buy it.
