haha I don't think we would flame you, because we all can see ourselves in a situation too, where we would care about if our cars got damaged, etc.

Another thing to be careful about since we have talked about the undersides of our cars....no clue why, but once I was at this Sunoco station (PA/DE border, Concord Pike), and the pavement goes all the way to the road, but there is a curb! I was mortified, my BMW dropped off as I drove over. Pulled right over and my two jack pads were destroyed on the left side. Man were those a **** to replace, they are not really meant to be removed. So it sounds so elementary, but beware of drop offs like that especially when many cars today are low, and have enclosed undercarriages (could mess it all up)....

Good reminder for making sure the car is stable when working on. Glad this was a minimal event.

I use wheel chocks to keep vehicles from rolling when doing the winter/summer tire changeover but I don't carry them in our vehicles. Mine are from Harbor Freight - inexpensive and heavy duty.

I don't know if it's still the case but Lexus vehicles sold in Europe used to come with one folding wheel chock: "STOPPER, WHEEL", part number 09184-50010

i dont trust any jack at all. whenever im doing brakes/tires on one of my LS400s, this works for me..

1. ALWAYS use the parking brake.
2. jack up car with whatever jack is around. chinsey oem whatever.
3. place cinderblock as close to the jack under the car as possible, without hurting something.
4. lower car onto cinderblock.

cinderblocks dont slip or fail. safer then any jack in the world. you can be crushed by your car. DONT take chances.
