Default New Key

I’ve lost my only key for my 2001 Lexus LS 430–awesome I know. What’s the best & cheapest solution? I’ve seen online keys w/ the buttons (brain) but does the dealership have to program it?

I was under the impression that you'd have to replace the ECM with a new one that had keys already matched up to it if you lost your one-and-only key. Something about the unique security code in the ECU/immobilizer not being able to be "read" and programmed into a new key unless you had a key already programmed to the car to "copy" it from. I can't remember if I was told this only about my '04 because it had a smart key, or if it applied to all models.
