Since my front bumper needs repainted I'm thinking about buying a new bumper for $350 and taking the bumper to a paint shop to get painted.
LS430 Bumper
The alternative would be to bring the entire car to a paint shop just to have the bumper sanded, primed and painted.
What do you think?

My thinking is,if your bumper is not damaged then i would have the body shop paint it.Use the money you were going to buy a bumper with and be done with it.
If you buy a new bumper you still have to paint it and pay for installation and you will pay alot more money and end up with the same result.

Unless your old bumper is damaged beyond repair, there isn't any good reason to replace it.

Agreed. Even the new bumper needs to be sanded and primed. Save your money and give it to a good shop. You want a decent match to the car’s metal surface. The shop needs the car for that. Good luck.

Do they remove when repainting the old one? If so, maybe an opportunity to replace park sensors (with eBay ones?)? Or if it ain't broke, don't fix it, not sure...
On our cars I'd likely go repaint if not cut/damaged...

If you end up buying a new one, you can save $18 and buy it from parts.com and still have a genuine OEM Toyota replacement.

If there's heaps of paint on the bumper it'll be cheaper and easier to simply buy a new one. There gets a point on a bumper where there's just too much paint on there and movement will cause stress fractures in the paint, at which point it has to be sanded back to plastic. If its only got OEM paint (very unlikely) or its only been painted once before, then just repaint the original bumper.
