Default Do NOT install UNITY struts!

My 2001 LS430 needed strut replacement and I had an independent mechanic friend do the work. He assured me the UNITY struts he used were from a reputable company and would provide a factory ride. Nothing could have been further from the truth. I have never ridden in a rougher riding car and that would include my 1963 MGB! I have now gone to the trouble of standing in two sweltering, mosquito infested wrecking yards to collect used struts and paid to have them installed. It was either that or sell the car. It was that bad. Please do yourself a favor and be sure no one installs them in your Lexus!

Review at Amazon is not good. Did you look them up online before agreeing to have these installed? What did your friend say about the ride quality after install?

I agree, I installed them on an es300 and I could not beleive how bad the ride quality was! I got a refund from rockauto and I havent bought anything from rockauto since then, I could not believe they would carry such crap!

I had similar experiences with suspension parts like Febest long long time ago - these were “rubber” suspension parts which ruined the whole suspension and made the ride intolerable.

since then I am extremely careful at choosing only reputable brands or usually I would just stick with OEM as the most trusted solution.

You’re driving the wrong car and living above your means if you can’t afford oem shock replacement on your LS. Sorry

That's a little harsh SC300.... these are cheap cars now... less than $5k will get you an LS430 in these parts... does not mean the repairs are cheap.
These are great cars that deliver great value but not all of them are gems. Some have been mistreated and some are true gems if you can find them...

Wow... just because it is OEM (and most likely the most expensive option) does not means it is superior product than cheaper aftermarket. Unfortunately this one is a real POS but not all of them are.

Not trying to start a debate but which part of the OP's post that say he is living above his means? My understanding is his friend gave him a bad advice. And what Legender said, LS is not an expensive car anymore. My neighbor spent more on his Corolla than my LS (and mine looks a lot better according to him lmao).
