Radio issue LS430
Hello fellow LS430'ers,
I have a 2004 ls430 ML whose radio turns on, but does not produce sound. However, the voice command produces sound just fine (so probably not speakers), and if I merely turn the electronics on and don't crank the engine, the radio will work for about 3 seconds, then silence. Any suggestions, other than fuse maybe?

It's got to be something in the Amplifier, mounted back in the trunk, but to be honest I couldn't tell you past that. Do any of the radio functions work? AM, FM, Tape, CD?
I know these amps are susceptible to failure, and it's not out of the realm of possibility that yours is failing.
I have to assume the voice command works off an amplifier in the head unit behind the touch screen..
There have been a few really good threads on this Audio System, and there's a few guys who have had their amps rebuilt or fixed.
Feel free to search for Mark Levinson Amplifier issues and you may be surprised with what you find.
Welcome aboard!!
