Default Help! Need a picture of someone’s EVAP vacuum hose!

As the title states, can someone post a picture where their evap hose connects? Got a check engine light for the EVAP system, checked under the hood and saw a hose hanging and not connected anywhere. Also missing a clamp, but first I need to determine where that hose goes. Also, what is that little box attached to the hose??

I searched, but the only pictures I could find didn’t look like mine with that little box? Odd.

Any help would be really appreciated!!

The "box" is actually hollow and serves no specific purpose. Mine broke on my '01 and I replaced it with a piece of bulk emissions tubing. Lexus even calls it a hose in their parts catalog. It's basically a complicated way to make a 90 degree bend.

If your emissions hoses detached themselves you might want to look them over. It usually means they have hardened and are prone to splitting.

You were correct, the hose is cracked and the clamp was missing. Went to autozone this morning, replaced the hose and put some hose clamps on - check engine light is gone.

Thank you everyone for your help.

I completely forgot, sorry. It was actually 3 codes, in order. If you search EVAP hose it’ll pop up one or two threads with the same issue and they have the codes listed.

One of your codes might be PO440. I’ve had that very code trigger my CEL over the last few years. The items I replaced are too many to list but include gas cap, MAF, a few O2 sensors, and every single hose in that area referred to above. I got all my OEM hoses and other parts from Lexus. Every hose was rock hard. Unfortunately for me the light still gets triggered every few months. I’ve been told by my Indy and a shop foreman at Lexus it is most likely a part of the charcoal canister which must be changed as an entire piece. Very expensive for parts and labor getting to it Sorry for ranting on and glad your quick fix worked for you.
