Default Advice on buying '01 UL LS430

Two owner, clean title, no accident, black/black 2001 UL Ls430, 129k miles. Timing belt and water pump done at 100k. Front bumper is a little rough with some scratches, otherwise in very good shape. Asking price is $4,500.

Price seems fair... what should be goal purchase price be?

It sounds like it is already priced right - consider a purchase price below asking to be a nice bonus.

As long as the air suspension is in good shape that seems like a good price. Struts are $1200 each so keep that in mind if it has issues.

Is this a private seller or dealer?

Seems like $4,500 would be a fair price already. If you want it, offer them $4,000 and see what they say.

You may not find a black on black UL anywhere for that price. Just get it and be happy😁

Most LS430 are great cars. Regardless of the price you pay, just be realistic and prepared to spend $1500-2000 to sort things out. Good luck.

Okay, talked to seller today and air suspension was swapped out for standard coils and springs, I hope the ride is still close to oem. Will test drive it today. Everything else is still functioning as it should, no lights in dash. Will removal of air suspension throw any codes?

If done properly, it will not throw any codes. And if this car rides like an LS430 should and has quality parts, scoop that up for $4500! Best of both worlds right there

What is meant by no lights in dash? No trouble codes or no illumination?

Car was in bad condition and drove bad as well. I didn't want to start a new thread, so asking the CL family again, found a UL '02, 170k, all service records (More then $15k in repairs with receipts, only at the dealership), one owner in mint condition, asking price $7800 private party. What is a reasonable price to purchase?

Picked up a "MINT" 02' LS430 UL, 170k on the clock. Original owner, all work only done at dealership, Over $15k in receipts over the last couple of years fixing numerous things, using only OEM parts. Absolutely EVERYTHING works as it should. As a bonus, the air suspension was swapped out properly for OEM springs and struts just last year. I think I paid a little over what it's worth, but the history was worth it for me: $7200.

I payed $4500 for my 02 UL with no history and 150k miles. Now that Ive had it a few months, I dont think I would mind paying a little more for one that was really taken care of. I got lucky with mine and havent had any mechanical issues, but the piece of mind might be worth the extra cost in my opinion. Congrats! and get some pictures up.
