05 LS430 - Groan/rubbing noise
Hey all,
I've had my LS for about 8 months now with no issues whatsoever, however I've recently been hearing this groan/rubbing noise coming from around the steering wheel/steering column.
I have looked on the forum regarding this issue and it seems like the RX350 has the same/similar issue.
I did try lubricating the lower boot where the steering shaft goes through the floor, but hasnt improved much. I am in the process of replacing my power steering fluid (the turkey baster way) but doesn't seem like its improved either.
I was wondering if anyone else had faced this issue? Could it be the intermediate shaft? When looking down from the engine bay, the steering column lower joint seems to have surface rust, perhaps I could try and grease that up with high temp grease?
Thanks
Yann
