Some old man decided to gun a stop sign and I have the right away as I was entering the intersection. Long story short. I know his insurance will total out my car. I am just waiting on the police report and file the claim. Heading to a second body shop in town for my second quote. Luckily the front support beam isn’t crushed. I am super sad about this because I bought the car two weeks ago. I’m looking for AFS driver headlamp, driver foglight and Oem grill. Lmk if you guys have extra/spare parts laying around. What do you guys think?
Is a total a sure thing, meaning, is it because of the cost v. book value? It doesn't seem that bad, esp if insurance goes for used parts (they already do that on brand new cars, so obviously they would with older cars as well)...

the other party had three old men total. Driver was in 60痴 from another city in a rental and others were atleast 80-90. They had a walker inside the car and were on their way to a funeral as one of the wives had passed. Pretty sad story overall. Yes he has insurance.

Kansas is a 75% totaled if the cost exceeds KBB. With brand new parts I壇 say I知 pushing it. But Lexus online parts were cheaper than what they entered from their system. I rather go through a body shop though.
Here's hoping they don't total it out. I've had two front end collisions in my '99 GS400 (one a deer and the other time I rear ended someone at low speed) and both times my insurance company repaired it. However, there was no quarter panel damage. Only the hood, bumper and headlight and some radiator supports. If this happened to me like you I would buy it myself and do the repairs. After 19 years with the car I'm not going to find another one that has been dealer serviced since new like mine has been that's for sure.
Going to be close on totaling it due to price to fix. Hope that's not the case though and you get to keep it. I worry about that with my car all the time. I've already had one totaled from issues outside of my control.

I did not think about these things until it happened. It nice to buy these for a great price but long run they just total itself out. I wanted to go AirLift on it and second thoughts on modding this now. Has anyone order parts from Lexuspartsnow.com? I plan on using that check and order my own parts and do my own labor and have it professionally painted.

How did they repair your car? Did they use OEM brand new parts or aftermarket? What insurance company do you have?
again I forget how this arrangement works, but my relatives kept a Passat that was stolen, recovered, and considered totaled. The left front door was completely smashed in hard, and fender and rear door scraped.
Making up numbers, say they were offered $2800. Maybe they accepted $1400 and took the car as-is? Then they went to a salvage yard who put on a front driver's door for $400 (it was a dark color and the car was maroon, didn't match), and left the rest? Oddly, however, the vehicle had hidden unibody damage from the accident, and had to be junked, but they did drive it almost a year.
