HOW TO: Single-DIN Head Unit & Amp in LS430 with factory Nav/ML - no adapters needed

It's been a few years since I put up this post, but my main goal was to keep the factory nav/climate control/backup camera operational. For your particular setup it looks like you're gutting the entire system. So if you have climate control and backup camera from your Android unit, all you need to do is get the line outs from your Android unit and connect them to your aftermarket amp. Tap into the ML amp harness to send output to the factory speaker wires, change your speakers as you see appropriate.
In your setup I don't see the need for a separate single DIN head unit, unless your Android unit does not do audio. Not familiar with it.
I'd also advise you to put the amp somewhere you can have access to it to adjust levels, unless you plan on setting it once and forgetting it. The factory ML location is buried behind the carpet and a little hard to get to.

where did you run all the speaker wires that run off the back of the headunit harness??
did you extend all the wires to reach the ML plug in the boot?
or is there a plug in the dash somewhere that you can reach without having to extend the wires?

Fun fact I found out last night. The ML amp has 2 channels going to the single woofer BUT only 1 channel is used. The plug on the speaker side is 2 pin, the plug out of the amp has 4. I wonder if they had different plans or what?
