I still think trying to attach the seat belt with the left hand is the problem. If you use the right hand method and allow the left hand to take the tension off the buckle by pulling the belt from the pillar, then its very easy to snap into place. I paid attention a few times this weekend and that process works for me on all my Lexus/Toyota vehicles. I never look at the receiver. Just grab it and press down to where it should be and latch it.
