Recently, i purchased a 2002 LS430 with 118,000 miles. I went and got fuel (i was on empty, then filled up) from the gas station that is a mile away from my house. One block before i got home, the car was slowly shutting down, not allowing me to give it any throttle. it eventually shut off completely and would turn over & fire for about 1 second, then die. multiple times i tried turning it on, with no luck. The engine starts, acts like it wants to idle for a second, then shuts off. Any amount of throttle does not effect it. My battery eventually died.
I have checked: the battery(got it tested at a local auto parts store, 5 month old battery), all the fuses in the engine bay.
Also the car is showing a check engine light, but not throwing any codes. Any suggestions?

Not sure what you mean, "showing a check engine light, but not throwing any codes." If the check engine light is on, that means there is/was a diagnostic/trouble code available to read.
You connected an OBD2 reader and it's totally clear of any codes? If so, you should be able to shutoff the check engine light with the OBD2 scanner by forcing it to clear the code. But can you clear something that's already clear? lol? Try it and see if any codes come back, although they might not if you can't keep the LS running for several seconds.
I would start troubleshooting towards either fuel/fuel pump, or even MAF sensor related.
How long have you owned the LS and at what mileage did you take ownership?

I apologize for the super late reply. I got it all figured out. Ended up getting a near 50/50 fuel/water mixture from a Chevron. Its fine now... Chevron paid for every penny of the mechanic bill.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Glad it was sorted out. That's a shame. Knowing that only a very limited number of gasoline brands refine their own fuel, and that there are only a handful of transportation cos. that deliver the fuel, I often feel safer hitting larger volume retailers.
For example, one co. that was busted delivering leaded jet fuel in CT, delivers to Costco down here. So what can we really do? I just figure stations with high turnover is going to expose problems faster.
