10" Android screen for LS430
#436
Ok...When you choose save does anything happen like updating MCU and afterwards unit rebooting? Can you hear, tune and volume control the original car tuner? The only connection I made from the car to my unit was a Y connection. I have read that other connections will make the AC not work. Also read that connection to swing vents has to be connected also. Did you hook anything else up from the car to the unit besides the Y harness? It should work as mine is also a 2001. Also which unit did you buy?

Ok..I noticed the seller has free 30 day return shipping. Have you had it over 30 days? The specs on this unit are low but that has nothing to do with not doing the AC. I read on another forum where someone tried the no protocall setting and all worked. Just to give you an example on specs I paid $241 for a 4gb ram 64gb rom 1280x720 screen 8 core processor with 4g sim module installed from aliexpress. Seems to me that something has to happen to update system settings when change can bus. Maybe the other person that had the hiworld canbus can let you know if his did like mine and update system settings and reboot.

Seicane 9" Android 12.0, 6G Ram, 128G Rom for 2004 LS430
Alright all y'all....first of all, I'd be remiss if I did not give a MAJOR shout-out and Thank You to those who started and contributed to this thread in 2019 and beyond!. If you've read this post from beginning to end, as I have, you'll see some calling them pioneers in this endeavor...and after reading it all, you'll see why. They were slogging through the then ground breaking wiring issues that many of us now get to benefit from. So if this is something you are contemplating, as I am, take the time to go through it all. My write-up here will be nothing other than an update to all efforts that preceded me, with an Android 12.0 version. There are promises of some wiring and Canbus advances having been made.
This is going in a 2004 LS430 with nav screen I just bought last month (pristine condition in/out, one owner, garaged, all records, dealer maintained, 130k mi @ $6500). Absolutely love the car but the antiquated screen and functionality has to go! I'll keep the radio and all other original...I think. Guess I got spoiled with my 2013 Ram 1500 screen/functionality, when I saw this I knew it wasn't much longer for this world. While there are several Chinese companies making these Android units, I'll be covering the Make: Seicane, Model: H2753N-P, which covers LSs from 2001-2006. When going on their site, sugg. searching by model number. The site is pretty cool but when going by year/make/model, they didn't list this one so it pays to hunt around a bit. You'll also note when they say "High End" vs. "Low End" they're referring to the screen in proximity of the climate vents....not the quality of the unit. You'll see I have the high end version and notice I also opted for the bluetooth ODBII. The wife didn't want the dash cam and she's going to be the primary driver so that was out.
So I made the decision to purchase during Chinese New Year so I had to wait for them to come back online (the wait was agonizing as one wants when one wants it...but it was an exercise in patience). Thus far, their pre-sales support for Q&A has been great. It pays to read their FAQ's as many of your ??? will be answered. I chose their most expensive version because of the most up to date Android 12, 6G Ram, 128G Rom...I didn't want to put up with lag or hardware performance issues. A couple of things I've been assured going into this is they've been at this long enough now that they only need photos of your dash and need not for you to take out your radio and take photos of the connections, before buying. I'm so hoping I don't regret that! They claim that all climate controls and the existing OEM rear camera will work plug & play with the harness they provide....w/ no splicing or special connections. I specifically told them I was not interested in buying / wiring a new camera. I know in advance, and am perfectly fine with, not being able to use the screen for temp control rather we'll use the dash mounted buttons. This is not a big thing. All other aspects are supposed to function, to include the Mark Levinson sound system, amp. etc.. Time will tell. Wish me luck. I'll report back in a couple of days I think/hope, if this goes well, and a week or two later if it doesn't. I'm doing this a day or two before a 12hr drive to the Keys, so I'm really hoping it plays out well. For those wondering, I bought this via PayPal on the 6th and it arrived today, the 13th. Once shipped, took only four days to doorstep via DHL.

Update: Seicane 9" Android 12.0, 6G Ram, 128G Rom for 2004 LS430
Update: I’ve tried this install twice now, following feedback from manufacturer Seicane. Tech support is present but it’s marginal at best. Not great. Still trying & hoping I simply didn’t get a BS sales job given it was NOT plug & play as I was assured, before buying. BUT…I am still attempting to validate if I didn’t do something correctly. I’ve taken meticulous photos of my progress depicting exactly what I’m doing/not doing. At issue, not surprisingly, is no climate control or rear camera functionality. They have replied and claim the harness is correct, and now are telling me to make an illogical / conflicting connection…putting an 18pin connector into a 20pin socket…into the Canbus…? They said to do it so I’ll try. Not expecting it’ll work, in which case I’ll just send the damn thing back…3 strikes and I’m out.
It would seem they’ve done away with (or at least with this company anyhow) the ability for an end user to select a Canbus protocol…with this generation of Android 12 unit. It’s nowhere to be found in their settings…and trust me I’ve looked…and looked. What IS working (when I have it connected, is car play, navigation, audio, etc. I feel like I’m nearly there. But having no climate or rear camera functionality is a hard No! for me, of course. Ain’t nobody got time for that. 😆
Took to and discussed w/ a couple of pro installers, for trouble shooting. Not surprisingly, they’re not big on this “Chinese crap.” We concluded that, given limited functionality (what IS working), the issue is either in the Canbus programming (or harness). So it’s difficult at best for a shop here to figure it out unless they happen to be employing a Canbus programmer.
Lastly, I’ve been told by several auto audio shops there is no viable solution for mainstream (Kenwood, Pioneer, etc.) replacement of existing Nav screen for a 2004 LS430. The only other option is to install a…Kenwood or similar, in place of or below the existing radio/tape/CD, thereby having two screens in the end. That would look goofy as hell in my opinion and I don’t want to destroy the beautiful dash that way (no judgement to those who disagree and/or who have done so - just not for me).
Alright, I’ll try and get to the third attempt this weekend, and advise further.
For those who may be interested, here’s a link to the photos and videos I have generated this far. You will miss some of the context not seeing the dialogue I’ve had with them but you’ll get the gist of it.

My 2001 with a unit from aliexpress works great. As I posted on other thread today the harness for yours would not work on mine because it is made for 2004-2006 so the installation with yours should have worked. Also on there site they mention setting the canbus. The canbus settings on mine are under factory settings which is password protected and is 123456. For my installation I only had to hook up the Y connector and 2 rca plugs for cd player audio. I also used the 16 pin input on the canbus along with the 20 on other side. The 18 pin you have would be for a different canbus than you have and I would not put it into the 20 pin. You would be altering the power and ground which could blow it up. Canbus settings are somewhere in that unit and like I said they are under factory settings in mine. If that password doesn't work put a device info app on there and see who made unit and model number and post here and google for passwords. On my setting up canbus I had to be on internet and the different settings would download different AC app and update the mcu of the unit. I tried several to see if I could set temperature but none would but up and down on unit or on sides work fine anyway along with other climate control functions. Just looked at your video and for the radio built in you have to plug in an antenna. I bought one for $5 and ran wire to back under moulding and mounted center top back glass....very easy. For rear camera you will probably have to wire it manually. There should be a reverse wire which is 12V switched when put in reverse then rca input into unit. Also unplug that obdII connector.

After reading everything I could find this Seicane item looked to be the best, so I ordered it last week, I just came in from the Garage a few minutes ago, I have not gone thru all the set up steps since I just finished install, I used the correct 20 pin canbus plug, when I turned mine on I don't know what I did but a screen with the Climate selection went on, and it worked great, I stopped because I cannot get the radio (factory item) and the cd player to turn on, and before I get frustrated I will dig into where there might be a blown fuse although the new screen lights up so I'm not sure of the problem, anyone have any ideas? be patient there is definitely a screen for climate. the rear camera is not plug and play, youre going to have to run an RCA cable to the back or get the adapter that connect to the camera, I read this might work. one more thing I can't tell in the pics you posted, the canbus plug has 2 other connectors that come from it, one is the OBD2 I kept mine disconnected, I've heard it is not a good Idea, the other connects to the back of the display which has to be connected.

I second that on OBDII not hooked up as I referenced that on previous post. The accessory fuse for radio cd system is passenger side kick panel and is not blown. If you have a rear camera the video signal should have been wired to back of nav screen already but for the 12V signal reverse wire I don't know where that is on 2004-2006. What year car is yours. For my 2001 I ran all wires through top moulding to back including antenna which is hidden at top of back glass. Are you able to get into canbus settings? See above post as where mine was. On mine the AC screen would come on at every turn on but that is adjustable to only come on when access app. For unit radio it has to have an antenna as the factory antenna is in trunk for original tuner.

There's no support for the OE back-up camera with any of these Android units, unless you want to do some rewiring of the OE harness which is ill-advised in the event you ever want to revert to the original nav screen. The best solution is to install a new camera. Your climate controls should work, keep in mind they only work from the app on the screen. I bought from another manufacturer (EKIY) on aliexpress, not Seicane, and had no issues with set-up on my 2004 with nav.

On my 2001 no oem backup camera was available so I installed one and very easy but if I had the oem I would have rewired and just saved the old plug. It's amazing to have a full android unit with a reliable navigation that also communicates with the car and fits near perfect. The side buttons for temp and dual control work fine for me without having to open app. Even the newer lexus has an unreliable navagation so for my 2020 ESh I am using a T-Box Plus on my 12.3 inch screen.

SO I was ablet to hook everything up on mine yesterday, I have a 2005 with Nav. I replaced it with the Seicane, and at first I was frustrated because it would not turn on, a little digging an it was a blown fuse, now that I have it running it does most of the things the original did, a few observations
- @IsWhatItIz there is an app call AC, it is on the last page of the menu, I have a total of 53 apps installed if you have less than it might be missing,
- Correct harness makes it all plug and play.
- I can control everything on the climate screen except the oscillating vents, no button so I can no longer turn them on (small price to pay).
- I no longer have a reverse camera, I will replace the OE with an aftermarket and run the new RCA cable for it.
- I did not install a separate antenna for the radio so the radio app does not work, there is an app called "carCD" that let you control the factory cd player an auxiliary out and the factory radio using the factory antenna etc. so I use that.
- Apple car play is flawless.
- A little glare from the glass screen, not enough to bother me.
- I use Amazon music and it makes the ML system sound so much better than it did before.
- Would I do it again? in a heartbeat, it brings the car to the 21st century. is it perfect? no way, but it is great.

My unit does have the swing to oscillate vents on AC app that works but I never use it anyway. I did notice as I was trying different canbus settings the AC app would be different so you could try different settings especially if the major settings like defroster etc are not there. I was trying to get the temp number to display but could not but up down works both on app and side buttons. Rear camera came with my unit and cable had reverse wire in it also which I wired to my reverse tail light in back. Process was not hard as I ran wires at top molding to back then down subwoofer hole to access trunk. Did not take out back seat and at same time ran antenna wire. For my unit the frequency for original radio is off but does work. I actually like the built in radio app a lot better and so much easier to work with so glad I ran a stick on antenna which is hidden at top of back windshield.
