Default The most beautiful wood in a Lexus I've seen

2005 Lexus up for sale and I was wowed over the wood in this beauty. My 04 LS430 looks nice I think but I love the fire look to this thing.

It's nice wood! My 2004 Ultra has this, and I really like it. As a 29-year old, I fit into the younger demographic of buyers of these cars. Darker wood and a black interior makes me feel like my car is a bit less "old man" than it is!

My 2005 LS430 Ultra has that exact interior and wood, love it as well. I like it even better than the special Shimamoku wood trim in my LS460 Ultra.

It's very unique with the layered alternating layers of dark & light wood, supposedly shaped in a process involving 67 manufacturing steps over the course of 38 days. However strikes me as a little bit less elegant I think than the LS430's dark wood trim.

I also love this reddish-colored wood in my 2010 LS600hL! My wife hates it, but I think it looks very nice against the dark leather dash in my car... The Shimamoku wood in the 2013+ LS's is pretty cool also. My ultimate favorite interior wood for the LS, though, is the matte finished dark red wood - looks amazing with a black interior! Kind of hard to find, though.

My car interior wood looks just like this and when sun hits it just right. its almost like an agate looking through it.

I have to agree with you, the burnt ends just gives the wood a quality look. Has anyone wrapped their wood with another style of wood?

I would never think about wrapping a quality, real wood with a plastic wrap!

I'm not sure if I would also but just asked if anyone has done it. People wrap perfectly good paint jobs, its to customize and be different, nice part is able to remove easily afterwards.

I love LS600. You have a great combination having both LS600 and SC430!

Thanks BCT! I do feel like I really have the "best of the best" for Lexus vehicles. I'm really not that interested in the recent Lexus direction towards edgy exterior styling and getting rid of the V8s. I'm very happy with my LS and SC and don't plan to update these for a long time (if ever). I'm still intrigued by the LS430s, though, and am convinced from everything I've read that that version of the LS was the absolute best in terms of build quality and attention to detail. But I know I would have a hard time giving up some of the nice new amenities I gained by going with the LS600hL (long wheelbase, AWD, LKA, Driver Attention Monitor, Executive rear seat package with massage, DVD player, etc.).

Default Hey Dave

I see in your signature box that you have the Vaistech SL3B in your LS. Are you happy with the performance of same?

I need to add a good BT adapter, beatsonic is less money, Vaistech also gets rid of the I agree screen, so as long as the performance is not wanting I will go that way. I don't like pushing that pesky button, even tho I don't use the car nav much.

Ooops, i think I posted this to the wrong thread

Why yes I do have the Vais SL3B and really like it (alot). it automatically gets rid of that pesky keep your eyes on the road screen. Hooks up to Pandora or whatever and gives you the group and song title in the display. Easy to install. I did it myself and that says a lot. Best of luck
